Individual Membership

Individual membership is open to students and individuals who work in a health-related organization or company at varying stages of their careers.

Benefits of Membership

Networking

Members develop long-lasting relationships with people in similar positions across the country. By becoming involved in a regional chapter, they benefit from local connections and career development opportunities. All members are listed in the College’s on-line member directory (available to members only).

Visit our chapters page to find a chapter near you.

Publications

Receive a complimentary print and on-line subscription to Healthcare Management Forum, the quarterly, peer reviewed journal that features articles on professional practices and new technologies in the field of health leadership. Members also receive an e-mail subscription to Communiqué, the monthly newsletter about national and chapter activities, and benefit from career and event postings.

Certification

Grow personally and professionally through the Certified Health Executive (CHE) competency-based certification program. Members can continue to advance their career by becoming a Fellow of the College.

Mentorship

Mentorship endows mentees with the ability to advance their careers, refine their skills, and train to become capable health leaders. Mentorship is offered to members locally by a selection of chapters and nationally through a mentorship matching tool.

Professional Development

Members have access to a professional development library which includes courses and webinars for health leaders at any stage of their career. They also have the opportunity to participate in Canadian and international study tours.

Members can take advantage of the LEADS in a Caring Environment Capabilities Framework which defines the knowledge, skills, and attitudes a leader needs to successfully contribute to system-level change.

Insurance and Travel Benefits

The College has negotiated alliances with some organizations to offer group rates to its members, such as The Personal (home and auto insurance); PBL Insurance (liability, errors and omissions insurance; and Morneau Sheppel (health insurance). Group rates are also offered by Via Rail and Fairmount Hotels.

Recognition

The National Awards Program recognizes outstanding health leadership in Canada and only College members are eligible to receive these awards.

Membership Fees

The College offers four membership categories including active, student, associate and retired. On September 1, 2017 the College will introduce a graduated entry fee for active members. For additional information, fees and applications visit our categories and fees page.
